The Centre seeks to support peace and development and strengthen democracy in Libya by producing rigorous, high-quality research, developing practical policies that empower decision-makers, promoting national dialogue, and building the capacities of leaders and institutions to achieve positive change and sustainable development.

The Centre seeks to achieve a set of objectives that support the building of a modern state based on knowledge, governance, and sustainable development.

Developing a strategic vision for a centrist national movement: formulating an intellectual vision rooted in Libyan values and moderation to promote democracy, stability, and sustainable development through gradual reform and institution building.

Formulating evidence-based policies: providing practical, actionable studies and solutions to support decision-makers, strengthen good governance, and improve the efficiency of national institutions.

Promoting a culture of national dialogue: organizing events, conferences, and workshops to bring together different Libyan constituencies and build strong national consensus.

Raising public awareness: producing knowledge content and awareness initiatives that promote the values of full citizenship, peace, and democracy, while supporting democratic transition.

Developing the capacities of professionals and researchers: equipping researchers, politicians, party members, and civil society actors with the knowledge and skills needed in research, analysis, and policymaking.

Monitoring regional and international developments: following and analyzing external transformations and political and economic projects affecting Libya, and formulating strategies to safeguard national stability.

Creating a comprehensive database: building an integrated information reference covering diverse Libyan affairs and issues to support researchers and decision-makers in shaping national strategies.

AREAS OF EXPERTISE

Fields of Studies & Research

The Centre conducts multidisciplinary studies that support evidence-based policymaking, institutional development, and sustainable national progress.

Political & Constitutional Affairs

Focuses on achieving consensus around an inclusive constitutional legitimacy, national reconciliation mechanisms, and the implementation of local governance without compromising the unity of the country. It also examines strengthening the separation of powers, restoring national sovereignty, and integrating different groups, including youth and women, into the political process, in addition to developing political parties and civil society institutions and addressing regional and international influences.

Economic Affairs

Aims to formulate strategic visions for transforming Libya from an oil-dependent rentier economy into a diversified and productive economy, while managing natural resources with transparency and fairness. It also addresses strengthening financial governance, transforming government bodies into competitive entities, stimulating the private sector and small businesses, developing infrastructure, and consolidating financial stability and food security.

Social Affairs

Concerned with consolidating an inclusive national identity and promoting a culture of dialogue and tolerance, while addressing violence and extremism and providing social safety nets to protect vulnerable groups. It also focuses on developing the education and health sectors, activating the role of families and civil society, empowering women, and studying the impact of digital and environmental transformations on social cohesion.
